Soundscapes2024 - in progress
A series of works based on a harvest of soundscapes. The different levels of sound perception are separated and transformed into images – one image for each individual sound – which find its graphic dimension on a wooden board. These are large, rough wooden boards, the kind used for construction, which are carved and become woodcut matrices. Each matrix is printed individually with transparent lacquers and graphite on semi-transparent paper (12.5 g Mitsumata). Eventually, following the recording, these translucent sheets are overlaid and positioned, then glued together to create the vision of a new soundscape.
