This series of woodcuts is a travel diary made following the “oil road” From London to south of Italy. This woodcut series is a travel diary born during the lock down of the Covid-19 Emergency. Everything started in the end of February 2020 as an investigation of urban areas of London and Rome in the time of changing.
June 2020 - Petrolio Xiloreportage Part 2: following the “oil road” to report, with woodcuts, the social and environmental disasters that are happening in Basilicata.
July 2020 - Petrolio Xiloreportage Part 3: Sustainability. Following the circadian rhythm. Is it possible to re-appropriate time and space by experiencing how long our body needs to adapt to a new environment? I think it is necessary to reflect on the hectic rhythm of contemporary society by experimenting with slowness, idleness, self investigation. It was a 4-day journey walking and cycling 350 k from the Opificio della Rosa to the Metati area - the chestnut dryers - in the Apennines to collect traces of an ancient economy based on chestnuts and coal.
